Monique Lhuillier 2012 Fall Collection

New York Bridal Fashion Week always gets me giddy with excitement. I love seeing what new trends will be walking down the aisle this season, and what my favourite designers have managed to dream up that's new and fabulous. Monique Lhuillier opened her show at Cedar Lake with two gorgeous reception worthy little white dresses... with pockets !!! From there, as Monique says, the collection was "Ethereal, dreamy, frothy and romantic." It was a parade of pretty-as-can-be gowns featuring tulle, light-weight lace, delicate beading and elegant horsehair bows. So, without further adieu here is a look at Monique Lhuillier's 2012 Fall collection.

Vera Wang 2012 Fall Bridal Collection

Wedding dress designer extraordinaire, Vera Wang, has shocked the wedding world with her 2012 Fall Bridal Collection. Actually maybe we should just call it 'collection' because there was not a white dress insight, rather all non-traditional tones like nude and jet black. Vera described the collection as "both mysterious and sexy, frivolous and fun." In the past Vera's collections have always included a sprits of colour here and there, like soft grays, lavender and green, but this weeks show turned its back on the white dress completely. The sixteen piece collection did not show one single white or ivory gown, however, in true Vera Wang style, the design, fabric and styling of the collection was dreamy. But still, more of an evening wear collection than bridal wear to me. What are your thoughts?

It's A Boy Thing

More often then not, the boys take a sideline when it comes to weddings... but this doesn't have to be the case. I love the idea of having your photographer take some casual shots of your groom and his mates either the night before, or the morning of the wedding. I adore this image below of the guys sitting in the pool, and the one of them chilling on the deck chairs... Soooo hot !!! Here's another thought... if your guy is an avid surfer, or into cars or bikes, why not get some candid shots of the boys just being boys. Let's not forget girls, that this is the biggest day of your fiances life as well !! And surely it's a day you don't want him to forget! So, make sure you capture every bit of his excitement in his day too!!
